Cambourne is making excellent progress towards establishing its own community cinema, thanks to the continued fundraising efforts of the Cambourne Village College Charitable Trust and dedicated volunteers.
Particular thanks are owed to South Cambs District Council which has dedicated a substantial portion of its Rural England Prosperity Fund allocation to the project.
This means the Trust can now go ahead with the purchase of a high-quality projector, cinema-quality screen, surround-sound system and electrically operated curtains.
The proposed venue is the impressive new Sixth Form Lecture Theatre at Cambourne Village College, which promises to become a welcoming space for families and residents to enjoy the latest box office film releases and other screened events in their own community.
The Trust is seeking two additional trustees to join the current board, as well as individuals with the relevant skills to contribute to our development plan. We would be pleased to hear from any potential volunteers with a strong interest and knowledge of film, or with technical expertise in running a cinema, or with general small business experience.
For further details, please contact John Panrucker, Chair of the Charitable Trust, at:

There will be many more opportunities for volunteering once the community cinema is operational.
