Cambourne Sixth Form (CamSF) opened in September 2024 after several years of careful planning to create a dedicated Post‑16 provision for young people in Cambourne and the surrounding area. We are now home to almost 200 students across Year 12 and Year 13, studying a broad range of A Level and BTEC pathways.
In March 2025, we were thrilled to be awarded an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted judgement. Inspectors rated the school Outstanding in all five categories, with the Sixth Form receiving its own separate Outstanding rating. They highlighted the exceptional quality of education across both A Level and Applied subjects, the strength of our curriculum sequencing, and the clarity of progression routes into Post‑18 futures. Inspectors also recognised that student wellbeing sits at the heart of our ethos, praising our sixth formers for the enthusiasm with which they contribute to our diverse and inclusive culture.
Although we are proud of this achievement, it does not change our commitment to continuous improvement. As a growing Sixth Form, we remain focused on listening to feedback and refining our provision. Nonetheless, the Sixth Form Team and staff across the school are delighted to see the hard work of our community recognised so strongly.
From the outset, CamSF has aspired to excellence. We offer specialist teaching in every subject and benefit from excellent new facilities across our expanding campus. Our bespoke curriculum provides a wide range of A Level and applied vocational courses for students aged 16 and over from Cambourne and across Cambridgeshire. Designed to balance the independence young people seek with high‑quality pastoral support, CamSF offers each student a unique opportunity to grow—academically, personally, and socially.
We are proud of the rich student experience we provide. Alongside their studies, our learners can explore a wide range of opportunities beyond the classroom. Whether through sport, the arts, life‑skills development, volunteering, mentoring, or leadership roles, every student can find something within our enrichment programme that aligns with their interests and ambitions.

Since opening in 2013, Cambourne Village College has been growing rapidly to serve our diverse local community; our newly-built Sixth Form represents the next exciting phase of our journey. We are keen to continue to recruit ambitious students to help us to create a friendly, dynamic and aspirational learning community where every individual is valued and respected, where student experience and feedback guide us, and where strong staff-student relationships are at the heart of our success. Aspiring for Excellence in all that we do, our curriculum offers a wide range of high-quality A Level and applied vocational courses and gives students the freedom and flexibility to build an individualised study programme that maximises their sixth form experience.
